We've picked our date! What's next?
Below I'll try to answer many of the most frequently asked questions we get relative to wedding photography here on the islands. Each wedding is unique, but this will give you a good starting point when thinking about your wedding photography. We're happy to answer your questions photography related or not. And, we're happy to offer insight, suggestions and referrals of our favorites. We're here to help, just ask!
I want to work with you. How do I book you for our wedding?
You can reach me via email , or just fill out our contact form on the contact page of this site. I can then respond to whether I have your wedding date available. Once we secure your date, I will send you a wedding contract for your chosen coverage and the $500 deposit invoice. The remainder of your package +tax will be due 14 days prior to your event. Then "find our photographer" is all done!
How far should I book in advance of our wedding?
I am currently booking weddings into 2016. Six to 12 months is normal for securing your photographer. If you would really like me to photograph your wedding, please check with me on dates prior to securing your venue.
What does wedding photography cost?
The type of coverage you'd like will dictate your package pricing. We photograph from getting ready to reception. Or, if you just want us for a portion of your wedding day, we can do that too. We have weekday options as well as weekend pricing. Contact me for the full rate sheet. If you are eloping or it's a small wedding with an intimate group and you only need a couple hours, send me an email and I'll see what I can do to make it work.
How much is the deposit and when is the balance due?
The deposit is $500 to reserve and hold your date. Once your date is reserved, we will not offer that day for any other weddings. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding day.
Do you shoot with an assistant?
Generally, yes. If your wedding is a large group or over four hours of coverage, I will have a second photographer with me. I prefer to work with a second photographer as it allows me to have multiple views and the ability to be in two places at once.
Where are you located?
I am a full-time Sanibel Island resident. I live, work and play here. I have photographed weddings at every major and minor wedding venue on Sanibel and Captiva, as well as Fort Myers to Marco Island.
When should we do the bride +groom portraits?
I am a fan of the "first look" on a whole lot of levels. It allows you to have that "moment" between the two of you without your entire party there. You can shake off some of the nerves which should help you be truly present at your ceremony. We can then also take your portraits with the two of you, your bridal party and family (if desired) ahead of time. That way you have more time at your cocktail hour to enjoy your guests vs. spending all that time taking photos. If you do opt not to see each other, then we will most likely take your group photos immediately following the ceremony before everyone dispurses.
How long until I see my images?
We will generally post a sneak peek for you on our facebook page within a day or so of the wedding. Your full gallery should be ready for viewing online within six to eight weeks after your wedding day. We will send you a link to the gallery that you are free to share with family and friends.
Can I get all my images digitally?
We include a digital option with most of our wedding packages. We know this is important to our brides and grooms and we've chosen to offer digital collections. With your USB, you will receive a personal printing release that will allow you to print your images. We suggest you use a quality lab for your printing to ensure color quality and longevity of your prints. We are happy to offer suggestions.
